Chickadee Tales: A New Haven Bird Club Anthology
At Brightwing, we believe the best stories often stem from community. That’s why we’re proud to highlight Chickadee Tales: A New Haven Bird Club Anthology, a book co-edited by Gail Martino and Ricci Cummings in partnership with the New Haven Bird Club.
For more than a century, the Club has inspired curiosity, protected habitats, and connected people with the wonder of birds. Chickadee Tales gathers nineteen essays from members and supporters, celebrating that history while sharing personal stories of discovery, conservation, and joy in the natural world.
Though not published under the Brightwing imprint, this anthology reflects the values we share with NHBC—stewardship, education, and a deep love of nature. We’re honored to support their work and invite you to do the same.
Every purchase of Chickadee Tales goes right back to the New Haven Bird Club, funding their year-round walks, talks, and educational programs. Free and open to everyone, these events invite the community to share in the joy of birds and the value of conservation.
