Brightwing Press is a boutique publisher founded with a simple belief: that storytelling can open windows to the wild and spark lifelong wonder. Born from a love of nature and the curiosity of both children and adults, Brightwing publishes books that connects readers with the natural world.
We create books that inspire curiosity, spark exploration, and deepen our connection to the natural world through thoughtful, beautifully crafted storytelling.
The Brightwing team is a small flock dedicated to creating exceptional stories. We collaborate with experts who share our passion for the natural world. Each book is thoughtfully curated and designed with care—because how a story is told matters as much as what it tells.
We are proud to collaborate with organizations that champion conservation, education, and the joy of lifelong learning. These partnerships help us extend the reach of our stories and support a broader mission of stewardship, curiosity, and care for the world we share. If your organization shares our vision, we’d love to connect.
At Brightwing, we believe the best stories often stem from community. That’s why we’re proud to highlight Chickadee Tales: A New Haven Bird Club Anthology, a book co-edited by Gail Martino and Ricci Cummings in partnership with the New Haven Bird Club.
For more than a century, the Club has inspired curiosity, protected habitats, and connected people with the wonder of birds. Chickadee Tales gathers nineteen essays from members and supporters, celebrating that history while sharing personal stories of discovery, conservation, and joy in the natural world.
Though not published under the Brightwing imprint, this anthology reflects the values we share with NHBC—stewardship, education, and a deep love of nature. We’re honored to support their work and invite you to do the same.
Every purchase of Chickadee Tales goes right back to the New Haven Bird Club, funding their year-round walks, talks, and educational programs. Free and open to everyone, these events invite the community to share in the joy of birds and the value of conservation.
